• The challenge proposed for the students in this project was:
"How to provide better thermal comfort for low income household, with lesser environmental impact than conventional solutions?"
• What and how are we doing it?
Basically we are focusing on designing a system (stakeholder relationships, products and services) aiming at low income families, with a focus on the houses that are built by COHAB (Curitiba Housing Agency). Also, the developed solutions must use passive energy.
To enhance the development of the project we have two reference companies. In such a way that we situate these companies in our scenarios, as if they would start producing or providing such solutions. They were choosen due to the contact they have with our department and the relation with our topic. Besides, they are both interested in developing through design, they allow us access to informations and we have support from the managers or owners. The students are divided in two groups that deal with one of theses companies:
Group I - Soliforte www.soliforte.com.br
Group II - Electrolux Brasil www.electrolux.com.br

• Who is participating?
The inscription for these poject was open to all the students from the product design course regarding their entrance year and it is oriented by professors Aguinaldo dos Santos and Liliane Item Chaves. We now count with 12 students from all years. A list with the participants and more information will be also posted in these blog as well as it has been sent to the participants' e-mail.
